Dance! Everybody Dance!
IRVINE’S ‘Shoes Brothers’ are back with their latest festive feel good single - an Abba inspired version of Dance! Everybody Dance.
Fresh off of recording in the studio, the duo, comprising Father Wullie Boyd and the Rev Neil Urquhart have spent the week filming a music video to accompany the song this week. And the performing pair pulled off the Christmas cracker with a little help from their friends in the local community including pupils from Loudoun Montgomery, St Matthew’s Academy and St Mark’s Primary Schools.
Neil and Willie have worked together for more than a decade making humorous and uplifting videos to spread their message of community spirit and Christian values.
Speaking about the launch of their latest single, Rev Neil Urquart explained, “We’ve been attempting to dance left, right, and centre since we first started doing this. Of course each of us have two left feet, but we do our best to get everyone involved. It’s all about breaking down barriers, building bridges and celebrating community.”
Giving everyone a peek behind the curtain, Father Wullie Boyd joked, “The best laugh I’ve had all week was on Monday when we went to the studio to record our tracks without any musical accompaniment. When it was played back to us, I’d say it was the worst bit of singing I’ve ever heard in my entire life!”
He added, “The great thing is, as always, is that we’re building bridges, reaching out, and including other people - we’re trying to bring light into this darkness.”
The song can be heard daily on Irvine Beat FM and can be downloaded from Spotify, Apple Music and all music stores. The video will go live on the Shoes Brothers Dance Facebook Page.
