Revision Classes

School pupils facing prelims and/or SQA exams often get stressed.  A local church offers Revision Classes in certain subjects in the run-up to school prelims and/or SQA exams. Maths and Science subjects are likely to be the most sought after. It could be run on a Saturday morning, as an after school group, or in an evening.

How can you start this yourself?

  • You'll need some enthusiastic and competent teachers or retired teachers with current PVG membership, who know the relevant syllabus.

  • Adequate room or rooms with tables, chairs and a white board or at least a flip chart

  • People to provide refreshments

  • Clear programme of revision topics with relevant materials all carefully advertised or simply the promise of an open forum to help candidates work through past SQA papers

  • Decide: free of charge or perhaps a donation to charity?

  • Decide: by invitation only or advertised openly advertised?

  • Share your plans with the local secondary school. They will appreciate it, and may inform the pupils for you.
